Things to Do in San Marco, Jacksonville

San Marco is a Jacksonville neighborhood on the south side of the St. Johns River, just south of downtown's Southbank. Developer Telfair Stockton began it in 1925 as an 80-acre Mediterranean-inspired community, with a commercial square inspired by the Piazza San Marco in Venice. (Downtown Investment Authority, San Marco Preservation Society)

San Marco Square is still the center of things: shops and restaurants around Balis Park and its lion fountain, Theatre Jacksonville on San Marco Boulevard, and live music at Jack Rabbits on Hendricks Avenue. Below are the verified events coming up here, the regulars that run every week or month, and the places worth knowing. (San Marco Preservation Society)
